When your out with your girlfriend's dad just be yourself (as long as your not a stupid snob) and talk about guy-stuff not about your girlfriend, such as football, Basketball, you know what i mean. If that doesn't work out then her dad is really, really, really, protective!
From my aspect, You should enjoy their company, because if you get on her side now, then you will eventually work your way into a stronger bonding relationship with her. Considering you love her.
