If your husband or you swear even occasionally in your home then 'monkey see, monkey do.' There are several methods with dealing with this problem of swearing:
- If your husband and you have sworn (even a little) then put 3 jars up on the kitchen counter. Put $5 worth of nickels in each one. Tell your child that every time daddy, mommy or your child swears then out comes a nickel and it is that much less money, but, if you all stop swearing then you'll let her have the other two jars of money.
- I'm going to get my fanny booted for this one, but, if the above doesn't work, then putting a bar of ivory soap between the teeth of your child for 1 minutes will soon change their tune. They did it for years with children until the 1960's rolled around (my parents did it to my brother and I) and we didn't suffer at all from it, but we sure stopped swearing.
- Here we go again for a good boot for me .... a spanking. One swat on the butt should do it. A spanking never hurt any child and it's not child abuse!
Some children just love to push their parent's buttons and your child is out of control. It is up to you and your husband to join forces to stop this bad habit as your child could well be tossed out of Pre School or Elementary School for bad language and disrupting the class.
