You may want to take her to the vet to have it examined. The danger is infection. The vet may need to cut the nail back further into the quick to speed healing and to help make sure the nail will grow back normally. Some vets prefer to anesthetize the dog for the procedure, other more "old school" vets will cut it while the dog is awake. It's very painful but over quickly and will actually minimize the dog's discomfort because they don't have an exposed quick after the cut.
Well, it depends on how far down you cut it. If your dog is in pain, you should treat it immediately. You should hold your dog still, and cut his/her nail below the split, but ONLY if you know how to do it. If you are unsure how, you should take your dog to the vet, and they will cut it safely.
We should immediately take that dog to the doctor!!!!
you should get him to a vet, dogs have veins and nerves in their nails and it's possible one of these has been cut. i wouldn't suggest removing the nail yourself
call a doctor.
No. They are dogs... not bears... the most they can do is growl and bark then get ripped apart.
My hamster recently actually had his nail ripped out because of its length i think he may have bit it. The vet says it should just heal because they usually dont need antibiotics or meds for it. You should get his nails clipped when their too long to prevent it.
go to the salon where you got them done, they can apply a certain hardener to your skin under the nail, and it will re-attach itself
Try a drop of clear nail polish.
3 inches
cut it off
nail file
cut them you idiot
Yes you can! About six months ago i shut my finger in the car door and it ripped off half of my nail. But that didn't stop me from putting nail polish on! I would put it on my tini little nail(:
Dogs will eat almost anything that vaguely resembles food.
