Connect Pin No. 14 & 15 on SMPS, if the fan moves then SMPS is working fine else SMPS is faulty.
Switch mode power supply (smps) converts 110-230 volts of alternating current to direct current that computer components need. The fan keeps the power supply cool.
To cool the SMPS while the computer is working.
HI This Is Adil, We can check it out in different ways.. but i know only two ways... 1. while strating up the system press the "num lock KEY" check wether its running or not then .. if its not working then its shows that SMPS is not working. 2. By removing all the connections from the motherboard and by keeping the copperwire on the 13th and 14th block (or) green and black coloured blocks, keep the wire in it if fan is running then the smps is in good condition... keep one night with out power and then use it...
smps means switch mode power supply

SMPS are mainly 4: flyback pushpull halfbridge full bridge

Ya easily. just take the ATX smps and pull out it's two extra pin from it's power plug and set it to the PC.
No. Running an air conditioner on fan does not cost as much as running on cool.
