If you're running a fever, you should probably stay with clear liquids like water, tea, apple juice, Ginger Ale (room temperature) bread and buttermilk. According to WebMD, when a body is running a fever it is also dehydrating and needs fluids such as water, soups, and juices. Nothing was mentioned about bread and dairy products, so I respectfully disagree with those suggestions.

Never eat any dairy products when you have a fever. I have a fever right now, I vomited because I ate dairy. So, do not eat anything with any dairy in. Also, avoid acidic foods or drinks such as Orange Juice or lemon juice, as these will make your stomach acids way too acidic, and cause vomiting. The foods I have been eating are plain slices of bread, 7 up (lemonade) and I would suggest eating chicken noodle soup. Also, Lemonade does contain lemon juice, but not enough to cause acidity. Don't take any cold baths or showers as the cold from the bath/shower traps all the heat in, so the outside of your body is cold, and the inside is hot. It is OK to take the occasional warm bath or shower, but I wouldn't have them too much. Also, when drinking lemonade, try to take short and slow sips. I don't know about eggs but I would stay away from them as the smell can make you nauseous sometimes. Try not to eat too much while you have fever because you have to let your body cope with the virus you have, and eating uses energy for your digestive system to work which makes your body concentrate more on digesting than fighting the virus. When you have fever it is your body trying to fight off a virus, so your body increases the temperature as your white bloods cells work better in hot temperatures. I hope this helped, and get well soon! P.S - Do not have any dairy products.

There is no evidence of that.

This has been a misconception since Marcus Welby MD was on. Doc received a flu vaccine and had an anaphylactic reaction to it, as he was allergic to eggs. Some way or the other, someone got the idea that eggs would help prevent flu, since the flu viruses to make the vaccine are grown in chicken eggs in the manufacturing laboratory as the growth medium.

It is now understood that even if you have an allergy to eggs, with monitoring after a vaccination for a short period of time, most can safely have a flu vaccination. See the related question for more detail about that.

you should balance them on the bridge of your nose, in between your eyebrows, as this helps your blood circulation around the brain and brain area, and therefor help the brain steady itself, reducing the chance of vomiting.

Cold foods is all you need.

I recommend alot of popsicles. But not icecream, it will make you feel sick.

It's never really good to eat hot foods with a fever, it just makes you feel even worse.

Now, if you had chills, then you need to eat/drink a nice soup or chowder.

Otherwise, stick to cold beverages/foods.

Yes, there is no reason not to eat eggs as a good source of protein when you are sick.

Well I ate cake when I had a fever so I think it is ok. You still need to eat healthy. Never eat anything that has to do with dairy!
