I am not into the old lists of things for anniversary because they are very outdated and outmoded. For 38 years of marriage the spouses should exchange gifts of something they have always wanted but never could get when they raised kids, built careers or bought houses. Then they should get a way to a nice place that will be comfortable for both of them. Now I will tell you what I would like to have to give you some ideas: I would love to have a good massage and stay in a hotel room that is 4-5 stars with a jacuzzi. By the time I have my 38th anniversary I will be 71 years old. I would not mind that gift for my 19th or 20th anniversaries that are coming up. So make lists for each other and swap them. Some couples have spending limits so set those if you are not well off.
