Soap has always been the old standby, but it has a tendancy of not providing much protection. Some of the newer hydrating/moisterizing body washes should work pretty well - so long as they are smooth gels, without any scrubbers in them.

Always use shaving cream first of all. If you dont know how to shave ask your dad, older brother or someone to show you how so you dont hurt yourself. If you already shave and want to know the best way then it varies. If you want a really close shave, so you have a baby smooth face then go against the grain, otherwise going with the grain is fine, it will just take less time to be visible again. Personally I like to use hot water, not searing hot, but like that of shower water, aveno shaving gel, and a razor with at least 4 blades (makes for less nicks).
