The Eastern MassasaugaIs the least venomous of rattlesnakes. Not normally fatal to adults but can be fatal to children, pets and the elderly. Though if an adult gets bitten they would experience allot of the normal symptoms including swelling necrosis vomiting exc, exc. Just because it is the least venomous and not fatal does not mean that it is not harmful. It can leave detrimental problems if untreated.
Some, not all, snakes are venomous. Poisonous is when something is ingested(swollowed). Venomous is when something is injected(by fangs). Hope this helps, and that I'm at least on the right track!
they bite their prey then squeeze until their prey dies
In U.S., it is Juneau, AK with 30%
false I personally believe from what I have read that this answer is TRUE. At least the 6 poisonous snakes in NC all have triangular-shaped heads.
There are no poisonous snakes but there are venomous snakes. One needs to be familiar with the species of each area as there are no general rules concerning shapes of the head or eyes. Vipers usually have a triangular shaped head. However, in many areas of the world there are species of snakes without a triangular head that are highly venomous. When planning a trip into unfamiliar countries it is best to purchase a guide book to the local species.
I'm afraid I can't give you an exact statistic on this, but I can tell you that it's incredibly rare. Not only that, but almost all casualties caused by pet snakes can be avoided by simply being smart about how you handle your pet. First of all, don't get a venomous snake or a large constrictor until you have a reasonable amount of experience working with snakes. For venomous snake, you're going to want one EXPERIENCED handler per 4 feet of snake, at LEAST. Most pet snake casualties are caused by constrictions, not bites, so use common sense. Don't try to medicate a 15ft python on your own. Remember, a snake's body (especially a constrictor) is pretty much pure muscle. It's not too hard for it to overpower you. Things like garter snakes and corn snakes aren't going to kill you.
snakes
No not at all. The western diamondback rattlesnake, coral snake, many species of viper, and at least one species of cobra can often be found in the desert areas of the world and those are just a few.
I don`t know how many venomous snakes are in North America, probably millions, but I do seem to recall learning, many years ago, that there are four main species, namely :-Rattlesnake,Copperhead,Coral snake and Cottonmouth, all of these have sub-species,hopefully this answers the question at least partly.
Yes, fire ants were a problem for troops during the Vietnam War. Other dangers in the jungle areas of Vietnam included ticks, mosquitoes that carried malaria, and at least 30 different kinds of venomous snakes.
They are NOT poisonous. They are venomous. Check you facts, look it up, or at least learn it!
