In the United Kingdom it is a three year degree, or diploma course. The first year is called common foundation where you work in a variety of settings, such a midwifery, gp surgery, nursery, dementia, and schools. In years 2 and 3 all your placements are mental health related. They usually last 6-12 weeks interspersed with time at college. There is no final exam, but ongoing there are many different assessments and presentations.
