well from what i know theres 4 choices. a 350 or 450 turbo transmission from the 70s-mid 80s. a 700r4 transmission from mid 80s to early 90's and a 4l80e transmission from early 90s up until the quit making them

All GM transmissions can be used with a 305. And most any other trans can be used with the correct adapter.
If the Buick 305 is really a Chevy 305, then the motor mounts will interchange with a Chevy 350.
