It will be either a NP 231 or NP 242. The 242 being the "Full Time" and the 231 being the "Part Time" 4x4 transfer case. There is a tag on the side of the case that is a small circle with the type and gear ratio on it.
If it's a full-time transfer case, you have the NP 242. If it's not a full time transfer case, you have the NP 231. The NP231 will have 2HI, 4HI, N, and LO settings. The NP242 will have 2HI, 4 part time, 4 full time, N, and 4LO settings.
