There are two trannys that were put into the 1982 Z28. One was a four-speed manual transmission, the other was a 3-speed automatic transmission. The manual shift was a Saginaw Muncie (code R) and the automatic was a TH200C. If your engine is a stock LG4 you probably have the 200C, if you have the higher output LU5, you might have the Muncie. Hope this tech info has helped. Most of this information can be found on Iroczone.com.
I have an 82' impala wagon and the factory 305 4bbl that is in it is rated at 145hp.
Torque specs for what part of the engine? standard answer: keep turning until it gets easy...
Either 145 with the base 305 4bbl or 165 with the 305 Crossfire injection option
Go with the 350. depends on your budget, 305 should go pretty good
The base 305 4bbl had 170, the H.O. 305 had 190 and the 305 TPI had 215
Most likely a 2.29:1 ratio
