The transmission dipstick in a 98 BMW 528i is on the driver's side of the transmission pan. Make sure you are parked in a level spot before you check it.
In a 1998 Mercury Mystique, the transmission filter is located inside the transmission pan. To access it, you need to remove the transmission pan, which involves draining the transmission fluid and unbolting the pan from the transmission housing. Once the pan is removed, you can replace the filter, which is typically mounted on the valve body. It's recommended to replace the transmission fluid and gasket upon reassembly for optimal performance.
To change the transmission filter on a 1993 Oldsmobile 98, first, ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and secure it with wheel chocks. Drain the transmission fluid by removing the transmission pan bolts and letting the fluid flow out. Once the pan is removed, take out the old filter and replace it with a new one, ensuring it is seated properly. Reinstall the transmission pan with a new gasket, refill with the appropriate transmission fluid, and check for leaks.

There is no drain plug like you find on the oil pan. You have to loosen all of the transmission pan bolts and remove 2 of them, break the seal and let the fluid drain from the pan. Usually when you do that though you should remove the pan, change the filter and put a new gasket on the pan.
Most likely on the back left of the transmission, right above the pan.
No, a 98 Isuzu Rodeo transmission pan is not the same as a 01 Isuzu Rodeo. The two model years may have different transmission designs and specifications, leading to variations in the size, shape, and mounting points of the transmission pans. It's important to verify compatibility by checking part numbers or consulting a mechanic to ensure proper fitment.

A bone dry automatic transmission would take aprox 12 qts ATF. If you are just dropping the pan, aprox 4 qts to refill.
