Quite a bit of bad stuff can occur, simultaneously, when a person is electrocuted.
The first is muscle energy depletion. When muscles are electrically stimulated they go into spasm and deplete the sugar reserves, making it impossible for the muscle to continue to function. When that occurs, it may be possible that the heart muscle can no longer pump. That's why it's important to know CPR, so that the heart muscle can receive energy in the blood that's being pumped.
Second can be bone fractures. Muscles are capable of contracting so violently that bones will sometimes fracture under the strain.
Third is electrolyte imbalance. Nerves are the communication mechanism of the body and there is a balance of electrolytes between the inside and outside of the nerves. When electrocution occurs that balance can be drastically modified, sometimes permanently.
Fourth is tissue damage. High energy electrocution can literally "cook" the tissues; muscle, bone, ligaments, nerves...
An electric shock could occur in space. One thing to keep in mind about electrical shocks is that if the body provides a return path for current to flow then an electrical shock will occur. It does not matter if it is in space or on earth, touching a potential across the output supply on a high voltage system is going to short circuit the supply through you.
I just gave myself an electric shock while TIG welding, and got a nosebleed, so it would appear the answer is yes.
shock risk
An electric fence energizer is used to protect live stock from escaping their pens/fields on a farm or ranch. This device delivers a small shock to the animal to make them back away from the fence. This shock is not enough to hurt them.
Anything that can interfere with the proper function of the brain can cause seizures and certainly electricity can interfere with the brain. But it seems to me that the brain would have to be involved in the electric shock and in most cases it is not. Sometimes someone will get their head into hot wires, but hard hats are non-conductive and protect you from this.
Electrical shock, shock, reflex, instinctive reflex, innate reflex, inborn reflex, unconditioned reflex, physiological reaction, trauma, injury, and corporal punishment.

R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center was created in 1960.
Shock occurs due to massive bleeding and pain. Losing an arm will put a person into shock. Trauma will likely kill a person before it puts one into shock.
The electric eel's adaptations is #1, the electric shock.
Trauma is just a deeply disturbing experience which gives you shock and really get in your mind.
Electric shock is to electrocuted as burned is to cremated. Electric shock is the same as electrocuted, except that electrocuted has actually induced death; to kill by electric shock.
injury, wound, shock.
trauma
Trauma
Shock is usually caused by trauma, blood loss, dehydration or massive infection
Muscles do not get paralyzed on electric shock from the AED.
