Manson's early life was a study in neglect and abuse. In and out of juvenile facilities beginning at the tender age of 9, Manson was abandoned repeatedly by his underage prostitute mother. When he wasn't in juvenile lock-ups he was passed from one relative to another, on occation he landed back with his mother, however briefly. To say that he was a career criminal is an understatement. There is almost no crime that Manson didn't try at least once. It was just a matter of time before his lessor crimes became murder. Prior to the Tate-LaBianca killings in 1969, Manson had been rejected as a musician by a record producer, ruining his plans for fame and fortune in the music industry. Anger, drugs and his connection to an occult group called The Process, Manson was a disaster waiting to happen. His unstable personality finally pushed him over the edge.
Alas if finally found an idiot question, are you seriously asking this? the answer is Charles Manson..............look it up!
they were pretty much a cult who lived with Charles Manson, who was a serial killer and pretty much insane.
Charles Manson
The Hedonistic type of serial killer seeks thrills and derives pleasure from killing, seeing people as expendable means to this goal. Charles most likely had the financial motive to his crimes.

The original name was 'Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids.' That is actually the original name, although they almost named themselves "Madonna Wayne Gacy". Because these crimes were so bizarre, Manson and his chums were so bizarre, they got worldwide attention. Not just the arrests but the trial that at the time was the longest trial in Califorinia history. What OJ Simpson (trial) was to the nineties, Manson was to the 1960s and 1970s. As sad as it is, Manson still retains a certain amount of celebrity. He actually gets 'fan' mail.
I have yet to find a better source of information on Charles Manson than Vincent Bugliosi's 'Helter Skelter'. This book is a great place to start when doing any research on Manson's life and what makes this man tick. Bugliosi explains the evil that is Manson and helps the reader understand what is incomprehesible. Manson's early life was no doubt a nightmare. Born to a teenaged prostitute who actually traded him for booze and cigarettes, and passed from one relative to another it is no small wonder he became the killer that he is. At the very least he is an interesting subject if you have the stomach for it.
Manson is unique in the world of serial murder. He actually has more in common with other cult leaders than serial killers. There are several factors that are very clear though, he falls into the organized classification. He planned, plotted, and prepared his 'family members' from start to finish.
He didn't actually "change" his name. It's just a stage name. Brian Warner came up with the name when he first formed the band, in 1989, which was then called "Marilyn Manson & the Spooky Kids".
