Hitachi ht-18s ! They are called a sequential turbo . Split pulse! The s4 had a splitter in the manifold to change the flow at low revs by the means of a ecu operated actuator . The s5 just had a split manifold and turbo. A lot simpler on the s5 . Also the s5 was 20hp more powerful than the 185hp series 4. Hope it helps..

It had the mass air set up with the crappy Mazda swing door mass air meter, with a IHI turbo. In 93 they changed the body style, dropped the turbo and the base 4cyl was a 2.0l and the GT's now had the 2.5L v-6. There are add on turbo kits all over the internet for the 2.5L v6 motor.
