Biotic factors and abiotic factors depend on each other for survival, humans and animals alike.
Some animals live in packs or groups (wolves, ants, meerkats) and they depend on each other for survival, some even have specific jobs. Some hunt while other protect the home and some are used just for breeding.
For food! If there were a surplus on coyotes rabbits (or whatever the coyotes ate) would die out in that area so the coyotes would run out of food and kill each other or die of hunger then as the coyotes were dieing off the rabbits would come back!

An ability to be self-reliant is a key trait for survival there. Otherwise, it's important to be able to depend on 'each other'.
There are some animals which depend on each other to live. Like....ants. They provide shelter for themselves and each other.
