Another effect to consider would be the Allied Forces agenda of having the oppressed nations, which had been freed, become democratic self-ruling nations. The nations of Europe were provided with loans, given assistance in creating new governments and economies. The leaders of the nations hoped that extending forgiveness and humanitarian aid would promote future peace. So far that seems to have worked as they hoped.
