There are many religions practiced in Japan. The two largest are Buddhism and Shintoism, with a majority of Japanese incorporating both into their lives. Religion is not as strong a part of the the daily life of the people as it can be in other parts of the world.
There is Catholic and Penticostal primary religions.

The top two practiced religions in the world are Abrahamic religions, with the 3rd and 4th practiced being Indian religions. The religions in order from largest to smallest are: Christianity (2,200 million followers), Islam (1,600 million), Hinduism (1,100 million), Buddhism (488 million), and Shinto (100 million). Shinto is a Japanese religion.

There are several religions practiced in Japan. However, Japan's "state" religion is Shinto.
The two most practiced religions in Asia are probably Islam, and Buddhism. However I'm sure there is a large number of Taoist's as well.
