The harsher the environment the more natural selection plays a role because the smallest advantage might be enough, hence humans with a very easy environment where genes don't offer a significant advantage this doesn't really count for humans.

And how much a species reproduce, the more they reproduce the more chance for a beneficial mutation.

How does the theory of punctuated equilibrium differ from natural selection?

They describe different things, so they cannot really be compared. Natural selection is the mechanism that gives direction to evolution. Punctuated equilibria is a model for the varying rates of adaptation caused by natural selection.

Is Darwin's theory proven?

A. It is no longer Darwin's theory as the theory of evolution by natural selection has been modified and added to since Darwin's day. Still, Darwin would recognize the theory as it stands today. B. Science does not " prove " things as that is a mathematical concept. Science supports it's theories with overwhelming amounts of converging evidence. That said, the theory of evolution by natural selection has been upheld scientifically for over 150 years and had withstood many tests and challenges. The theory of evolution by natural selection ios the bedrock upon which modern biology is built.

What did Darwin say about evolution?

Charles Darwin was one of the first people to propose that evolution occurs through descent with modification and the natural selection of inherited traits.Of course he had lots of things to say on the subject. To get some idea of everything he had to say you should probably pick up his On the Origin of Species.

How do living things and non living things effect each other?

Living conditions such as other similar organisms to an organism in question often results in competition for food, nutrients, and / or shelter. Natural selection is usually a result of this (natural selection is where the strongest survive), leading to evolution and development of the species. The environment, in turn, benefits from natural selection due to the decreased number of organisms draining resources. In essence, it is a cycle, with the living depending on the nonliving / other living, those being depended upon running short, the depending fighting each other, and the depended upon benefiting as a result.

Did Charles Darwin has scientific proof of his evolution theory?

Scientists did not prove things then anymore than they prove things now. Evidence, masses of converging evidence support the theory of evolution by natural selection. Darwin, in his day, had much evidence to support his theory. All the way from artificial selection to island biogeography. Since that time the theory has moved on to where it is no longer just Darwin's theory, but modified and supported with so much evidence that the theory became the bedrock of biology. What conditions contribute to evolution?

Variability, heredity, and natural selection are 3 main things that contribute to evolution.

What principle states that living things change gradually over time through natural selection?

The theory of evolution by natural selection.

Was evolution around before natural selection?

These two things are both theories that are pretty much the same thing.

Is evolution a theory or hypothesis?

Evolution is an observed and observable fact. The theory of evolution by natural selection explains many things about evolution. The theory generates testable hypothesis, as any good theory does. Remember, theory is the highest concept in science.

How do the marlins adapt?

Marlins adapt to their environment the same way all living things do, by the process of evolution via natural selection and random mutation.

The gradual change in living things over long periods of time is called?

The gradual change in the characteristics of a species over time is called evolution. The theory of evolution by natural selection was first proposed by Charles Darwin.

Is natural cause the same as natural selection?

No, they are two different things.

How is mutation and natural selection similar?

Both establish that: 1. There are limited reproductive opportunities 2. Only those organisms with "favorable" traits will be allowed to reproduce and pass the traits onto their offspring The difference is that artificial selection involves human intervention

Summarizing current details about the evolutionary process?

The evolutionary theory is currently apprised of many different aspects. One of the biggest things is that evolution happens through natural selection and survival of the fittest.

What are the three things biodiversity emerges from?
