It was a transition from being physically born into it like the Jews/Israelites were, to being spiritually born into it through the baptism of holy spirit. The faith all Christians share should be in unity together and with Jesus. Verse 29 brings out how Jesus was Abraham's promised offspring and that those who belong to Christ and his Kingdom are also Abraham's offspring or "joint heirs" in that Kingdom.
