Turkey is surrounded by four major bodies of water: the Black Sea to the north, the Aegean Sea to the west, the Mediterranean Sea to the south, and the Sea of Marmara, which connects the Black Sea to the Aegean Sea through the Bosporus Strait.

There are two waterways that could be used. The Mediterranean sea or the Red sea were both quick, efficient waterways that the Egyptians COULD of used.

Novorossiysk is a port on the Black Sea. It allows Russia access to the Mediterranean via the Bosphorus Straits into the Sea of Marmara, then through the Dardanelles Straits into the Aegean Sea which leads to the Mediterranean. The narrow waterways are the Dardanelles and the Bosphorus straits.
