Well, all dogs like the outdoors but bigger dogs need the most exersise such as labradors and collies, but contact your local vet to see what weather contions are right for dog to, so you and your dog can be happy!

∙ 14y agoAll dogs CAN stay outside, but that doesn't mean that all dogs SHOULD stay outside. For example, the Chihuahuas: They are small and get cold easily. It also depends on the climate where you live. In New York during the winter, all dogs must have a warm area to live in. You could add heating to your dog house, or you can simply keep them inside most of the time. Shepherds and larger dogs can stay out for longer periods of time because their coats are superior. If you have a larger dog make sure that you let them have lots of exercise. That way they can stay healthy, clean, and warm. Dogs such as Huskies that are used to colder climates may stay outside most of the time. Even the Huskies get cold so you must let them inside pretty often. I would recommend you to keep your dog inside at night because while you are asleep the temperature may plummet to freezing. Also, they are more likely to run away during the night. Train your puppies well and they will let you know when they have to "go outside".
