Air mass of the Philippines does not follow usual air mass types. Theoretically there should be 6 types of air masses (2 types based on moisture properties, maritime and continental times 3 types based on thermal properties of source region, polar, arctic/antarctic, and tropical ) however mA-type or maritime Arctic does not exist. Further classification based on temperature were added, superior, equatorial and monsoons. For the Philippines, we are experiencing 2 kinds of monsoons, southwest monsoon or habagat and northeast monsoon or amihan.
tropical air mass
the type of air they contain
Continental Air Mass.
A warm air mass which would be cyclonic.
A continental polar air mass.
maritime tropical
There are cold and dry air that exists in a continental polar air mass
Continental polar air mass.
it is continental tropical air
Continental Polar air mass.
A stationary front.
The type of air mass that is associated with the eastern side of the mid-latitude cyclone is Maritime-Tropical. Maritime-Tropical is a warm, moist air mass.
