DO NOT use Chrysler ATF! (of course, you may use Mopar's Dexron III, though)

No. Each has its own drain plugs. The auto tran. Is filled at the pipe where the dip stick is. Check manual for fluid types or go to a parts house or the jeep dealer. Either one will help you.

I dont describe things well but, your transfer case is underneath the driverside of your jeep to the left of transmission if you were facing the steering wheel from the driver sear. It looks like an extension or addition to the transmission. While underneath the jeep follow your front driveshaft back, what it connects to will be your transfer case.
They use the same kind of Automatic Transmission But there are two different manual transmissions. The grand Cherokee can use the AX-15 manual transmission which is bigger than the AX-5 but not the automatic transmission.
Cant be for sure but i think it just takes automatic transmission fluid. Additional Info: Correct - the transfer case is an extension of the transmission, so it uses transmission fluid. It "may", however, use a different "weight" of fluid than the transmission - check your specifications in your repair manual.
Mounted between the engine and the transmission. It houses the clutch/pressure plate on a manual transmission or the torque converter on an automatic transmission.
look in the owners manual
I have a 1991 Jeep Cherokee Laredo, in the manual it tell you to use 10W30, and that's what I have been using, hope this helps.

Look at the gear stick, if its auto then you have an auto transmission, if its manual you have a manual transmission.

If it has a manual trans... easily yes. If it has an automatic transmission, you will need to isolate the drivetrain from the transmission, or else you will burn out the seals & bushings. For 2 wheel drive vehicles, this means removing the driveshaft & installing a shipping plug in the rear of the tranny. For 4x4 trucks, you can usually accomplish this by placing the transfer case in neutral.
Written in your owner;s manual and on the driver's door post.
