I almost answered this question with, "Bats in Central Park? What have you been smoking?" Good thing I decided to do a little research first, because lo and behold, a Google search for "bats in Central Park" turned up a lovely long article about Central Park wildlife (see the Related Link below). And apparently we do have bats. I personally have never seen one, and I am a lifelong New Yorker. I guess I just haven't been looking hard enough.

There are five bat species in Central Park (not counting the two species of fruit bats at the Central Park Zoo): the big brown bat (Eptesicus fuscus), the little brown bat (Myotis lucifugis), the eastern red bat (Lasiurus borealis), the northern long-eared bat (Myotis septentrionalis), and the silver-haired bat (Lasionycteris noctivagans).
