INFO ON THE BIRD:

I saw a bird outside the window, it was between 4-7 inches long, 2-4 thick at the flank, and solid black. That is, except for a broad, bright yellow stripe fading as it got to the nape from the throat, only on the sides just under the cheeks. The "Birds of Pennsylvania Field Guide" by Stan Tekiela does not have it, so I can't tell. It's late January, middle of winter, so I doubt it was migrating. It was sitting at the bird feeder, I forget if it was on the feeder or on the ground shortly beneath it. Does anyone know what it was?
