Answer Scarborough Castle in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, was originally built in the 1130's. It was seized by King Edward II when he came to the throne in 1154 and he made consderable alterations and extensions to the building. Further extensions and alterations were made by King John and King Edward III.
It is a love-story gone wrong. A man and woman got married and traveled to Europe for their honeymoon. The man came home to Versailles, Kentucky and began building a castle for his wife. Before construction was completed the couple divorced and the castle sat empty for decades. The original owner passed away and a businessman bought the castle and began to complete building. During this process a fire broke out and damage most of the interior of the castle. Renovations began again and are almost complete.
