The Native American housing styles depended on their culture. The Native Americans were not one big national group. They were varied "tribes" or "nations" and their cultures differed. For example the people of the eastern seaboard were vastly different from the people of the plains or of the people of the southwest. Their housing reflected this difference. Some lived in longhouses, some in tepees (the first American mobile homes) and some in more permanent dwellings such as the hogan of the Navajo.
