A fireplace heats a room by radiation. That radiation is the direct transfer of energy by electromagnetic waves.
You can install a fireplace blower in every fireplace. Just measure it so that you buy the right size. Too large and it won't fit, too small and you won't really feel an effect. Also don't buy too large because you will use more energy that way.
