The battery produces electrical energy. If the light bulb is connected between the
terminals of the battery, then the bulb will change the electrical energy into heat,
and if you're lucky and you have the correct voltage, also maybe some light.
The type of energy that is produced with batteries, wires and bulbs is what we call electrical energy. Which is the same electrical energy we use for power such as lights.
Battery (chemical energy) goes to the wires (electrical energy) which goes to the light bulb (thermal and electromagnetic energy. In the bulb of a traditional flashlight, electric current energy is transformed to heat and then partially to light, when the temperature of the filament in the bulb is sufficient. In an LED type flashlight, little heat is produced and more of the electrical current energy is transformed into light.
Clearly the bulb itself operates on electrical energy, but this is produced by the battery from chemical energy. I don't see any connection with thermal.

Get your bulb, it should be a very small wattage (weak) one, get your battery and wires, connect one wire to plus side of abttery and other wire to minus side of battery, then connect to the bulb, you may have to play around a bit to find a connection that produces light.

A light bulb contains no energy so, Yes, a battery of any size contains more energy than any light bulb.
This is to avoid energy losses in the connecting wires.
