For the 1999 Ford expedition it is recommended that you use the Ford Premium engine coolant which is green in color. You should not use the Ford extended life engine coolant which is orange in color.
Any 50/50 mixture of regular green antifreeze.
A 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe will take approximately 16 quarts of coolant. The coolant can be purchased at any auto parts store such as Auto Zone.
I use a cheap plastic turkey baster that I bought at wallmart and suck the contents out of the coolant reservoir ( it doesn't take as long to do as I thought it would )
7 quarts
The extra load imposed by the air conditioning compressor is overheating the engine. This could be caused by numerous things, but the most common would be either a broken thermostat, low coolant, or a badly tuned engine. Take it to a mechanic.
Could be a number of reasons. Insufficient engine coolant, old and burned out engine coolant, improper heat exchange from the coolant to the ambient air in the radiator (this could be due to blockage in the radiator, insufficient pressure in the cooling system, bent fins in the radiator, etc.), bad water pump, blockage in the cooling system, improper coolant.... take your pick.
It is recommended that a 2008 Lexus uses premium gasoline. A Lexus has a high performance engine and will run better with a better quality of gas.
5 qts of 5w/30
I use the genuine 'Toyota Long life Coolant' it is red in colour
