If I am not mistake Mountfield uses Briggs & Stratton engine on it's mowers. Briggs & Stratton recommends you use SAE 30 weight in the summer and SAE 10w30 if you use the mower in cool temperatures. I personally recommend you use a quality Synthetic oil in any air cooled engine and change it once each year unless you mow commercially. In that case change it every 50 hours.
There are several reasons why your mower will not start. There could be an obstruction in the blade, a petrol mower could be low on petrol or the fuse could have blown in an electric mower.
i guess so if it runs and goes fast it must work
For small motor bike or lawn-mower or similar.
if your rider mower uses petrol/gasoline then you can remove the spark plug after you have tried to start it and if there is fuel getting to the engine the plug will be wet with fuel,if however it is dry then no fuel is present.
yes of course it does otherwise it won't work.

There is not really a set fuel air mixture. Each engine will be different even if they are the same engine during the build process they are set specifically to the engine.

You did not specify which brand of 2-stroke lawn mower you have. So, the ratios may differ. For a Briggs & Stratten 2-stroke engine the ratio will be either 50:1 or 32:1 depending on the engine model. It is always advisable to check with the manufacturer's manual or on the internet.
