What type of government does Braliz have?

Where is Braliz? That country is not in my gazetteer, but then I have an old one. However, there is a nation called Brazil that you might be interested in knowing about. It has an elected president who runs the executive branch of the government. It also has an elected congress. The voters elect their representatives by voting for a political party. Brazil uses proportional representative. It is not a first past the post system like in the United States. As a result, political parties have far more importance in Brazil than they do in a system like that used in the United States. Brazil has a judiciary. It uses Roman type law. In Roman Law, the judge decides what the law means in each case and does not care about Supreme Court rulings. Appeal Court rulings only apply in a particular case. They do not apply in all cases concerning the same law. So, while the government of Brazil has many similarities with that of the United States, many differences exist.

Balize is a republic next to Mexico. When it became free from England, it copied England's form of government. It is ruled by a parliament which is its legislature as well as its executive. The two functions are combined. The courts are separate. They follow common law, which is the same law as is followed in both England and the United States.
