On http://www.cubcadet.com/ you can look up your owners manual: http://manuals.mtdproducts.com/mtd/public/list.jsp?BrandCode=10051 If that doesn't help, you can contact your local Cub Cadet Service Center: http://www.cubcadet.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchServiceView?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=14101
That will depends on the manufacturer and model of transaxle that is under the mower.
A model number would tell what deck you have.
The easiest way I found was to remove the belt from all the pulleys stand the mower up on the rear wheels then squeeze the belt through the rear axle and engine pulley
I know only the simple machines in a lawn mower. Wedge, lever, wheel and axle, and screw.
Yes a lawn mower is a compound machine. Example: The wheel is a wheel and axle.
A mower may start to steer hard from many things: -Flat/soft tires -Lack of grease on the front axle or front axle joints -Lack of grease on the rack/pinion gears -Lack of grease on the steering wheel bearing -Crack in the axle itself, allowing the corners of the axle to move I have had all of these happen to me and they are relatively quick to rule out.
Need to know year, make , model, front axle or rear axle to help you.
you probably need a pair of snap ring pliers
you would have to get another transimishon for the front and a axle like the back
yes
On the blade spindles, the fittings are just above blades under the mower deck. You'll need to remove the deck and flip it over (careful doing this, heavy and sharp). There are two more on the inside of the front axle, visible when looking at front wheels. These seem to be good mowers if you take reasonable care of them.
A compound machine is a machine made up of two or more simple machines. So a lawn mower, push or riding, has Wheel and axle set ups, levers for the throttle and mower blade. That's why it's a compound machine.
