manuf recomends SAE 10w-30 in summer &SAE 5w-30 in winter I use 10w-40 year round in my 98 Dakota 3.9 V-6 I didn't like that little knock I heard in the mornings with that 5w oil. Use a good brand of oil & stay with that brand. I use quaker state & add restore at every oil change, get Restore at any auto parts.
