My oil stick broke on my 2000 esteem wagon. I tried to glue the top back on with no luck. For a while I used pliers to check the oil but eventually I went to a Suzuki dealer and they happened to have a stick in stock someone had ordered and never picked up - I believe it was about $17.00 or so. You could also try ebay.

I have owned a 1998 Suzuki Esteem since 1999 I bought it used with low miles. It now has over 60,000 miles on it and it still runs well. I would say it is a good car for what it is as long as you take care of. Change the oil and have it serviced on a regular basis and it will run for a very long time, it is a basic car I do miss cruse control but it has air and a good stereo so I would say for a starter car it is a good investment.
