According to the 1998 Ford Escort Owner Guide : With engine oil filter change : Sedan / Wagon ( 3.8 litres / 4.0 U.S. quarts of engine oil ) ZX2 ( 4.25 litres / 4.5 U.S. quarts of engine oil )

For a 1999 Ford Escort ( according to the owners manual ) With engine oil filter change The ZX2 model with the 2.0 liter DOHC engine takes ( 4.5 U.S. quarts ) The sedan / wagon with the 2.0 liter SOHC engine takes ( 4.0 U.S. quarts )
how do you know if the thermostat for the ford escort sport 1999 is bad
It would be between the engine air filter and the big engine air intake tube ( you don't say what year , but it may be INSIDE a plastic housing , you will see where the wires go inside the housing to connect to it )
Si on a ford stands for sport injection
in the fuel tank
