You really would like snow that is hard enough that you won't sink all the way to the ground. You want to be able to glide or slide across the snow. If it was too fluffy, you would just sink right down and not go anywhere. I would know, I tried!!!

Because Utah's snow is typically very light and powdery, which is perfect for skiing and snowboarding. Unlike in most other places, the snow is not hard, icy, or 'styrofoam'. Utah's snow is this way because of it's altitude and the fact that it is surrounded by dry deserts.
In the winter, Vermont can get a lot of snow. It's great for skiing and snowboarding. But, sometimes we get unlucky, and have no snow. But don't be fooled we have very hot summers, and we don't have snow all the time.

Snowboarding is a type of sport done in only snow in winter months. Preferably down large hills or a ski mountain. You use what looks like a longer version of a skateboard that is attached to your feet. I recommend you take sessions your first time. But in all snowboarding is definitely a fun and an active sport.
