it is commensalism because the tree has a place to grow but nothing happens to the orchid.

The symbiotic relationship depends on what orchid.

A fungus dependent terrestrial Orchid like Dipodium punctatum (or the hyacinth orchid), has a certain relationship between a type of tree because of a certain fungi that lives in the ground off that tree. It is only that certain type of fungi that Dipodium punctatum can live on because the species of orchid has no leaves, and so lives off the fungus through it's root system.

Commensulism because the orchid is benifted from the tree Orchids are epiphytes, meaning they grow on the trees, but they don't get any nourishment from them. At best, the orchids benefit from being closer to sunlight, and from nutrients from bird/animals droppings from visitors to the trees, and from decaying vegetation that gets trapped against their roots. The trees really don't get any benefit, and they aren't harmed in any way by the orchids.

The symbiosis is considered commensalism because the orchid does not harm the tree, using it for anchorage, some water, and a few minerals.
