How do i remove the tail light on a 2005 Honda odyssey to rpleced the light bulb.
You need to change the bulb. The filiment for the brake light part of the bulb is "open" or burned out. The filiment for the tail light portion will still work.
On a 1994 Honda Accord, the brake lamp comes on when a tail light is no longer working. The burned-out bulb needs to be replaced. The brake lamp will not come on after the bulb is replaced.
1998 Honda Odyssey tail light bulb replacement: Purchase the correct replacement tail light bulb(s) first, before disassembling the vehicle. See sources and related links below for replacement bulb information. Then consult your owner's manual for the tail light bulb replacement procedure. As simple as it sounds, the owner's manual is the best place to start for bulb replacement instructions and illustrations. You may want to consider replacing both left and right at the same time in order to keep brightness and color equal (optional).
This is because the tail light bulb has a different element in the bulb. Just replace the bulb and that will fix the problem.
When the tail light and break light are on the same bulb said bulb has 2 elements, one for the break and the other for the tail light, one element is burned out. Replace the bulb. If you've replaced the bulb, it might be the wiring. The holder for the bulb sometimes is at fault. They are $40.00 at the dealer, but at a pick a part or salvage yard they are $2.00.
Turn you high beams on and check your tail light. If its brighter, you have a head light bulb as a tail light bulb. 97-02 are the only ones that should do this. Find a tail light bulb and replace.(I couldn't believe it either).
The brake light may be blown (bulb) or your brake light switch might not be working.
