Please go see your veterinarian for a proper diagnosis and to determine what--let alone IF--antibiotics need to be administered to a sick calf. Chances are the calf does not need antibiotics at all, just electrolytes if it's scouring, a deworming product if it has worms, or an injection of a certain mineral if the calf is deficient in certain minerals.
Antibiotics are usually given to someone who is sick with an infection. There are many types of antibiotics.
Please check with your local large animal veterinarian for details on what's best to give the calf. You didn't give enough symptoms or details of the calf's condition to get any relevant answers, since there are over a 100 things than can make a calf suddenly stop eating and make it sick.

What kind of antibiotics are you referring to? There are many types of antibiotics that are out there for different diseases, so there isn't just one general type to give to a bovine. Also, antibiotics should be given to cattle only when they need them, like if they have an infection of some sort.
When I'm sick and they give me antibiotics, they usually tell me to take Tylenol for the pain. I think it's safe. Always check with your doctor before taking two types of medication.
What antibiotic? What disease? - I believe that administering antibiotics should be supervised by a competent doctor or (in this case) veterinarian.

Please be more specific. There are many different sicknesses a calf can get, and just as many different ways to treat them. It helps to provide symptoms before anyone can give you a recommendation of what to treat them with.
By using the antibiotics when you are really sick, not when you have a cold or something minor.
