How can you tell on a goldfish?
Before I tell on a goldfish, I try to work the problem out with the goldfish. If I cannot work out the problem, I generally tell the goldfish's Mother or Father in person.
What kind of goldfish tank do you recommend?
Tanks that are reffered to as "breeder tanks" work very nice as a goldfish aquarium. They are quite wide and noticeably shorter than the average tank which is more of a rectangle and doesn't permit as much gas exchange. An aquarium that is wider has a larger surface area thus allowing more gas exchange resulting in higher dissolved oxygen levels.
Do catfish bite lures?
no if you are trying to catch catfish use clams. worms might work and big catfish will bite anchovies

The main foot catfish eat is crawdads. The crawdads are probably the best bait. The meat from the tail of the crawdads is the best. Just remove the shell from the tail of the crawdads. You can purchase crawdads at any tackle shop or catch them yourself with a crawdad trap. Also, any kind of cheese is a good bait for the catfish. You only need to cast 25 feet in front of you to catch the catfish.
What are Peaceful tropical tank mates for goldfish. i know that goldfish are cold water fish but in aquarium shops they live in the same temperature as other tropical fish 29 C in summer?
Weather loaches (dojo) are a good choice, so are related fish like Kulhi loaches. plecostomus catfish, coreys and other bottom dwelling fish work well. We have had some honey gouramis with our goldfish for years and no problems. Most knowlegable pet store owners should be able to hel you find some peaceful fish that can live with goldfish. Avoid chichlids they will usually beat up on goldfish.

Goldfish can only live with other goldfish. I know this is a rather sad, depressing thing, but I will remind you that there are lots of other goldfish that are pretty and there's a wide variety of them. You may notice that goldfish tanks are usually a bit bare, because only goldfish can live there. Tropical fish don't simply work out with goldfish, because of the temperature and really because they aren't supposed to live with each other in the wild anyway. Though it's not a fish, if you really want to put some other sea creatures in your tank, I suggest to put sea snails. It's really the only other sea creature you can put in with goldfish, in my opinion. But be careful, snails can be a bit dirty!

yes, as long as the tank is big enough. i have 8 different types of goldfish, some of which are over 10 years old, and i have found the rule that work best for most types of goldfish is to have 1 gallon of water and at least 6'' sq. water surface area per inch of goldfish. with a bubbler, that rule can be bent a bit. it is good to make sure goldfish have enough space because goldfish use more oxygen and emit more ammonia and other oxygen-replacing toxins into the water than most other types of fish. the extra surface area is important to ensure that the fish get enough oxygen. overall, it is very possible and easy to keep healthy goldfish without a bubbler or aerating filter, but it is not a bad idea to have one of the two.
