Usually the fuses in cars since the mid 90's are the two sizes of flat, see through coloured fuses where you can easily see the wire or a break in it. I have 3 vehicles and they all use both sizes in colours to fir with amps - 15,blue etc. A good system and I regularly visit a large wreckers yard for parts and pick a few up - getting very expensive in stores now.
No there are many types and sizes of fuses - you should use the correct size fuse whatever you are doing.

No. Parallel circuits are not fuses. Fuses can be used to protect parallel circuits.
