New Jersey has a wide range of houses from gaudy palatial estates in Alpine to shacks in seaside, but the most typical New Jersey house is probably the mass produced 4-5 bedroom 2-3 car garage colonial knockoffs that fill the suburbs of the state, particularly in the north and central areas. There are some very old colonial houses and farms around, but the 1970-2000 suburban development is the most common.
