The main nutrient from the cereals group is fibre and others are vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates and dietary fibre. From the vegetables and legumes group you can receive vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates and dietary fibre. The fruit group is a good source of vitamins( including vitamin c and folate), carbohydrates mostly in the form of natural sugars and fibre of which the richest source can be found in the skin of the fruit. The dairy group is rich in calcium and also provides protein, riboflavin and vitamin B12. The last group is meat and it provides iron and zinc, the main one being iron.
