Lava Ir magma rocks
There are actually two ways of classifying volcanoes. The first one is by activity. If it has erupted recently and most likely will, then it's active. If it hasn't erupted recently but still has a magma chamber, it's considered dormant. If it will never erupt again and has no source of magma, then it's extinct. The second one is by the shape. Usually they are put into three main categories. The shortest, but wide volcano is called the shield volcano. These volcanoes are made from heavy and unpressurized lava. Some can be found in Hawaii. A less wide, but much taller volcano is called the cinder cone volcano. This volcano is made from lava building up upon the volcano. The tallest of the volcanoes are called composite volcanoes or stratovolcanoes. They are much bigger than the others and they are considered the most dangerous not just because of the lava, but especially because of the ash they eject.
The last volcano to erupt in Iceland was the Eyjafjallajökull volcano which erupted twice in April 2010, most recently on Thursday, April 15 causing flights to be delayed in airports all across Europe.Eyjafjallajökull.
•Volcanoes are found in three different states-•Active which means: Erupted recently and expected to erupt again.•Dormant which is: A volcano which has not erupted in recorded history.•Extinct this means: A volcano which is never going to erupt again.
Cinder cones are usually found on the sides of shield volcanoes, calderas, and stratovolcanoes. Many cinder cones can be found in Hawaii on the volcano of Mauna Kea. The most active cinder cone is found in Nicaragua. It is named Cerro Negro, and according to geologists and scientist has erupted around 20 times since 1850.
it erupts the same as a full sized magma filled volcanoe therefore a both volcanoes erupted the same way

A volcano erupted pyroclastic flow and killed everyone on the south side of the island. 1 year later 9 people went back, thinking that the volcano won't erupt. and guess what, the next day it erupted and they all died! the volcano is so dangerous and could erupt any time, so they banned the south side of the island. they all moved! and if you are found there, you'll be fined or sent to jail!
Sertsey was found off the coast of Iceland, two fishermen were out and saw a volcano emerge from the sea. It erupted for 4 years non-stop, when it finally halted, it formed an island. Voila, Sertsey was born.

If you mean the Cuillins on Skye, they are the eroded remains of a volcano which first erupted 59-60 million years ago. What you actually see is the solidified inside of the magma chamber which would have been deep underground at the time the lavas, found over most of Skye, were erupted.
Many of the volcanoes around the Ring of Fire are stratovolcanoes.
