What uprising occurred when farmers petitions went unanswered?
Daniel Shay was an American soldier, farmer and revolutionary. He led the famous 'Shay's Rebellion' an uprising against oppressive debt collection and fiscal policies in Massachusetts in 1786 and 1787. He attacked United States federal Armory at Springfield with 1200 farmers to steal weapons and overthrow the government.
The Whiskey Rebellion was a response from farmers, many of whom were war veterans of the Revolutionary War, against a tax on the whiskey the farmers made from their leftover grain and corn. This reaction was spurred because they felt they had no representation in this new legislation, and taxation without representation was something they'd literally just fought against.

The South, where most of the fighting occurred, slowly reconstructed itself in the face of Northern economic and political discrimination, and adopted an almost-feudal agricultural economy consisting of small farmers, share croppers and tenant farmers.

Long Depression, or great depression in Europe occurred due to a drop in the price of grain. This affected peasants/farmers. They could not compete. However this actually helped people living in urban areas because it allowed them more disposable income. Mainly the great depression affected poor farmers especially in East Europe causing then to immigrate to the US for example.
