Did Adam and Eve eat a fig?

Another answer from our community:It can be assumed since they covered themselves in fig leaves, but it is never made certain. We can know for certain what fruit Adam & Eve ate.Gen.3:7 tells us what the fruit was that Adam & Eve ate after they eat the fruit they cover with fig leaves. Therefore if they cover w/ fig leaves that means they ate a fig. Fig leaves grow on a fig tree if a tree has fig leaves the tree will grow fig leaves. Adam & Eve ate a fig not an apple.

Why Jesus looked at the tree when it was not time for fruits?

A plausible explanation lies within the nature of a fig tree. Farmers know that if a fig tree have an abundance of green leaves it might have been over fertilized and the result will be a poor fruit crop. This is mainly due to an over supply of nitrates in the soil. A fig tree normally shed two fruit crops in a season, the pre- fig season this will be early spring and the tree will show only fruit and is normally small in size. The main crop will be harvestable late summer. The fig tree is known to produce the best fruit under moderate to harsh weather conditions. When Jesus approached the tree it was at a time in between the two crops or just after the first crop was shed. The scripture indicates that the tree had leaves on might indicate that for that time of the year the tree was over fertilized as it was early in the season. Thus it is with his children. When life is easy and we have all we desire in abundance we tend not to fulfill our missionary quest. It is only when we have to overcome the harsh burdens of surviving in this unforgiving world that we tend to rise to the occasion and produce our best fruit at the right time. May Jesus find us in this state of producing the fruit of the gospel and not in idleness we he look upon us.
