Columbus was certainly a seasoned explorer and mariner. as commander of the expedition, he kept the master logs, and also some neat little code books kept locked up and away from even his trusted deck officers. ( there is some hint the charts similar to the Piri Reis map may be involved). He did see unknown objects and also strange happenings in what is now called the Bermuda Triangle. Columbus never landed on the US Mainland, by the way.

Why did Columbus keep two logs?

LincolnHe kept two logs because he wanted to raise the morale of his crew. He kept one log that said the actual time that his ships had been sailing and the other log, that he left for his crew to find, had a shorter amount of time so the crew wouldn't be mad about the amount of time they had sent sailing.
